Atrial fibrillation (A-Fib) is a common cardiac arrhythmia characterized by irregular and often rapid heart rate, which can lead to poor blood flow and increased risk of stroke, heart failure, and other heart-related complications. It occurs when the upper chambers of the heart (atria) beat chaotically and out of sync with the lower chambers (ventricles).
