An arachnoid cyst is a fluid-filled sac that develops between the brain or spinal cord and the arachnoid membrane, the middle layer of the three layers of protective tissue called the meninges. These cysts are usually benign and may not cause any symptoms, but in some cases, they can lead to headaches, seizures, or neurological deficits.
