Rebecca Marie DiBiase, MD, MPH
Biography
Rebecca Marie DiBiase, MD, is a neurologist specializing in stroke recovery and rehabilitatione. Her clinical practice encompasses both inpatient and outpatient care, where she is dedicated to supporting stroke survivors through acute care, rehabilitation, and secondary prevention.
Dr. DiBiase is certified in administering toxin injections for spasticity and chronic migraines, helping patients improve their quality of life and achieve better functional outcomes over the long term. She also provides care for general neurology patients.
She is passionate about international medical education and has developed curricula for medical trainees both locally and globally. Her educational initiatives have been implemented in various settings, including Turkey, China, and Zambia, where she worked closely with Zambia's first neurology residency program.
As an assistant professor of neurology at Yale School of Medicine, Dr. DiBiase has designed and led numerous teaching programs for medical students, residents, fellows, and interdisciplinary providers, significantly contributing to their educational growth. Her research interests focus on stroke recovery and expanding access to rehabilitation for stroke survivors. Dr. DiBiase has been involved in clinical trials exploring prognostic measures for stroke recovery and is actively engaged in projects to identify innovative ways to enhance rehabilitation services.
Dr. DiBiase completed her medical degree and master of public health at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and Bloomberg School of Public Health. She pursued an internship in internal medicine and a residency in neurology at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University, followed by a fellowship in vascular neurology at the University of California, San Francisco.
