Olga Sakharova, MD
Biography
Olga Sakharova, MD, specializes in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism. Her clinical focus is on thyroid disorders, such as thyroid nodules, hyperthyroidism, thyrotoxicosis, and postpartum thyroiditis. She performs various thyroidectomy procedures, including minimally invasive thyroidectomy and transoral endoscopic thyroidectomy vestibular approach (TOETVA).
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Sakharova's research focuses on diabetes management, adrenal gland disorders, hypertension, hypotension, the endocrine system in critical illness, and renoprotection strategies.
Dr. Sakharova has received multiple awards, including the Leadership Award as section chief, the Award for Excellence in Ambulatory Care, and the Research Fellowship Training Award. She is an assistant professor of medicine at Yale School of Medicine.
