Biography
James Kempton, MD, is an ophthalmologist specializing in vitreoretinal diseases and retina surgery. Vitreoretinal conditions affect the retina and the vitreous (clear gel that fills the space between the lens and the retina).
He treats patients with a wide range of retinal diseases, including diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinal detachment, and trauma-associated retinal disorders.
Dr. Kempton is the associate director of Yale New Haven Hospital’s Ophthalmology program and the associate director of the Vitreoretinal Fellowship Program.
Dr. Kempton is an associate professor of clinical ophthalmology and visual science at Yale School of Medicine. He is one of a few physicians nationwide who are double board-certified in internal medicine and ophthalmology.
