When a patient is in critical condition, an extra set of eyes can make a big difference. Meet Yale Medicine’s Tele-ICU: a two-way audio/video system that allows staff to monitor critically ill patients remotely. Live data is fed from the patient’s beside monitor to the Tele-ICU. If there is a change in the patient’s vital signs, the staff in the Tele-ICU immediately notifies the nurse or doctor on site.
