Brain Imaging Research Study

If you are between the ages of 65-85 years old, you may be eligible to participate in a brain imaging research study. No medications or radioactivity. 

Compensation up to $130.

Inclusion Criteria:

1) Between ages 65 and 85 years old.

Exclusion Criteria:

1) Current or history of diagnosis of psychotic or substance (except nicotine and alcohol) use disorders or current diagnosis of major depressive disorder according to DSM-IV criteria (SCID).

2) Individuals who meet the cutoff score of severe depression (≥ 29) on the Beck Depression Inventory-II.

3) Current use of any psychoactive drugs including anxiolytics and antidepressants.

4) Significant, uncontrolled current medical condition such as neurological, cardiovascular, endocrine, renal, hepatic, thyroid pathology (controlled diabetes, hypertension and hypothyroidism are allowed).

5) History of neurological illnesses or brain injury with loss of consciousness.

6) History of a cerebrovascular event including transient ischemic attack.

7) Any subjects with foreign ferromagnetic metal objects in their body or other MR contraindications (e.g., claustrophobia) will be excluded.

8) Women who are pregnant or nursing.

9) For HIV infected patients, elite controllers and those not on antiretroviral therapy will be excluded.

10) For HIV infected patients, those with history of or current CNS opportunistic infection will be excluded.
