Perimenopause
Definition
Perimenopause is the transitional phase leading up to menopause, during which a woman's body undergoes various hormonal and physiological changes. This period typically occurs in a woman's 40s but can start as early as her 30s or as late as her 50s. Perimenopause lasts until menopause, the point when the ovaries stop releasing eggs and menstruation ceases.
