Nonseminomatous Germ Cell Tumor (NSGCT)
Definition
Nonseminomatous germ cell tumor (NSGCT) is a type of testicular cancer that originates from germ cells, which are responsible for producing sperm (or eggs). NSGCTs are a group of heterogeneous tumors that include various subtypes, such as embryonal carcinoma, yolk sac tumor, choriocarcinoma, and teratoma. These tumors tend to be more aggressive and have a higher likelihood of spreading to other parts of the body compared to seminomatous germ cell tumors.
