Malaria is a life-threatening infectious disease caused by parasites of the Plasmodium genus, transmitted to humans through the bite of infected Anopheles mosquitoes. The parasites multiply in the liver and then infect red blood cells, leading to fever, chills, and flu-like symptoms. If left untreated, it can cause severe complications and death.
