Living donor liver transplant is a medical procedure in which a portion of a healthy person's liver is surgically removed and transplanted into a recipient with end-stage liver disease or acute liver failure. The remaining liver in the donor regenerates to its original size, while the transplanted portion grows to meet the recipient's needs.
