Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia
Definition
Hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT) is a rare genetic disorder characterized by the formation of abnormal blood vessels, leading to recurrent nosebleeds, telangiectasias (small clusters of dilated blood vessels on the skin and mucous membranes), and arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) in various organs. These abnormal blood vessels can cause bleeding, anemia, and other complications.
