Definition

Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) is a chronic mental health condition characterized by excessive, persistent, and uncontrollable worry about various aspects of life, such as work, relationships, health, and finances. This worry often interferes with daily functioning and can cause physical symptoms such as restlessness, fatigue, difficulty concentrating, irritability, muscle tension, and sleep disturbances.
