Definition
Esophageal cancer is a malignant condition characterized by the abnormal growth of cells in the lining of the esophagus, the tube that connects the throat to the stomach. It can occur in various forms, with the most common types being squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma. Esophageal cancer can lead to difficulty swallowing, weight loss, and other complications if not detected and treated early.
