Cervical Intraepithelial Neoplasia (CIN)

Definition

Cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) is a precancerous condition characterized by abnormal cell growth on the surface of the cervix. It is often caused by persistent infection with high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV) strains. CIN is classified into three grades (CIN1, CIN2, and CIN3) based on the severity and extent of the abnormal cell growth.
