Cerebral Venous Thrombosis
Definition
Cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT) is a rare medical condition characterized by the formation of a blood clot in the cerebral veins or dural sinuses, which are responsible for draining blood from the brain. This can lead to increased intracranial pressure, hemorrhagic infarction, and impaired brain function. CVT can result from various causes, including severe dehydration, infection, injury, or underlying medical conditions such as clotting disorders.
