A bone-anchored hearing aid implant (BAHA) is a type of hearing device that uses direct bone conduction to transmit sound vibrations through the skull to the inner ear, bypassing the outer and middle ear. It is surgically implanted and consists of a titanium implant, an external sound processor, and an abutment that connects the two. BAHA is typically used for individuals with conductive or mixed hearing loss, or single-sided deafness.
