Barium X-Rays
Definition
Barium X-rays are a type of diagnostic imaging procedure that uses a contrast agent called barium to visualize the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, including the esophagus, stomach, and intestines. The barium is either swallowed or administered as an enema, and it coats the lining of the GI tract, making it easier to see abnormalities or issues on the X-ray images.
