Abnormal Stress Test

Definition

An abnormal stress test is a result from a diagnostic procedure that indicates potential issues with the heart's ability to respond to physical exertion. During the test, a person undergoes physical activity on a treadmill or exercise bike, and the heart rhythm, blood pressure, and breathing are monitored. Abnormal results may suggest coronary artery disease, heart rhythm abnormalities, or other cardiovascular conditions.
